The title of this exhibition <Lootone> is taken from the writer name of Fumio Kasama as a Graffiti artist. Each Graffiti artist has his own so-called ‘writer name’ and dares not to use his own family name while he is active.
Kieth Haring, Jan-Michel Basquiat or Bansky are the artists emerged from the Graffiti or Street art world. The border between Graffiti and Fine art, especially in the present contemporary art is getting extremely close and nearly crossing over each other.
This <Lootone> exhibition is the Graffiti artist, Fumio Kasama’s trial to cross over the border to the Fine art side. However, the artist still keeps on having the ‘poisonous’ part of Graffiti, of which challenging sharp horn seems pointing us and asking the question what message the contemporary art should utter. |
